Portugal, lisbon 3

Its almost May! That means that half of the time here in Portugal is over. This country is so beautiful and every time someone from Portugal asks me, if we like it here, its not only a polite lie, when i say- of course, with a smile on my face. Cause it really is true. Wonderful people and wonderful country:)

So about the practice. Me and Dagmar had the opportunity to do the second practice at the police department. Our tutor was a Physiotherapist, who who didnt speak a word in english. Well, that was interesting, but fortunately the patients all spoke english and translated all the time. Our tutor was very smart and its a bit pity that we didnt speak the same language, cause I really think we could have learned so much more from him. But we got to practice a lot of Physical therapy (mostly ultrasound, dd current) and also massage. It sure was a quite interesting experience to work with different policemen (and a woman!:D). we also got a chance to go to the gym with one of our patients, who did a private lesson for us and after thought us punching. Physical therapy, indeed.

No we are staying at a big hospital called- Hospital de Curry Cabral. We have been there for 2 weeks now and I personally really enjoy it. Again our tutors, Arminda and Manuela, are very smart and they just have this big heart. One patient even called Arminda his angel :)
We are staying at orthopedic, general surgery and internal medicine infirmaries. There are a lot of interesting cases and again we are learning so much and Im very greatful for our tutors, who are such good teachers. We cannot do so much for ourselves, as at the police department, because of the language barrier, but every patient who speaks english, is ours :D

We have some time here more, but already now I can say, that this is worth it. Worth missing...the food, the culture and our people.

Lisbon2

So, its our 3rd week here in Portugal. The weather is getting warmer and warmer. Its kinda like Estonian summer right now. (at its best;))
On Friday we finished our first practice at a private clinic- Espaco Diagnostico. All three of us were there. It was a very small and rather old clinic. We managed to get our first impression on how physical therapy is done here in Portugal. Starting from tomorrow, Dagmar and I will be going to the clinic of police department and Mihkel is going to the hospital of onkology. So its going to be interesting.
Otherwise life here is ...well life. Every week we have to lessons of portugese. Which of course doesnt mean were able to speak yet, only in the store.:D
But the city and the surroundings are really beautiful. There is lots to see and do.
I`ll just post some pictures I took on Friday, when we went to the beach in Cascais, after practice.

A small beach in Cascais, near the dock.

Cascais is about 30 km from Lisbon. Here is a typical portuguese view.

These were estonians who we accidentely bumped into on the train back from Cascais. The world is small, or its just nice to think that sometimes and say- Tere.

Bom dia, boa tarde or boa noite! Whenever youre reading this.
