Bulgaria III
Studentdays started on Monday and today we're going to the ancient theatre to see competition "Miss and mister Academic." Anciet theatre is one of the most popular sights in Plovdiv and it's built by the Romans almost 2000 years ago.
More about our trip to Istantbul in our next post:)

Bulgaria!!!
I would like to say that Bulgaria and of course Plovdiv have been wonderful. The weather has not been, that we hoped for. But still we having time of our lifes and it has been a exciting adventure.
The people here are very friendly, helpful and interested in Estonia. They are asking all sorts of questions about our country. But to be hoonest to communicate here you need to speak at least litte bit of russian, of course englis is importend too.
The food here is guite delicious and very traditional. When you going to eat in reastaurant you can find only traditional food reastourants. They eat a lot of fresh vegetables and they can buy them on the street from the vegetables stands. Very popular is cheese. They have here two types of cheese – serene (white cheese) and kashkaval (yellow cheese). The serene is very popular, they put it every where- pies, salats, soups and so on. They use a lot of onions and garlic in their food. Bulgarian people drink alone or with other foods the sour-milk yogurt and the most common meat is lamb.
Best regards

Bulgaria
We are three bioanalysts from the 3th course. We've been in Bulgaria for quite a long time now and seen how much this country has to offer. Among the first things we noticed were the picturesque mountains everywhere, which are quite amazing to Estonians, who aren't used to that kind of sights. The first place we visited in Bulgaria was town called Veliko Tarnovo, which lies at a foot of a mountain. Thanks to its beautiful architecture, breathtaking views and the lightshow Veliko Tarnovo will always have a place in our memories.
Our second destination was the capital, Sofia. Almost all of the locals say that Sofia is no worth visiting, that Plovdiv is more beautiful etc. But despite their opinions we had three wonderful days there. One of our favorite atractions was the United Buddy Bears show. There were a lot of bears representing all the countries in the world and this show takes place every year in a different city, this year it was Sofias turn:)
During the Easter holiday we visited Asenovgrad and as the locals say, it is the Bulgarian official capital of bridal outfits and churches. Besides that, there is a really nice fortress on top of the mountain, but it is not the best place to visit if you're afraid of heights:D
This weekend we're going to Turkey, Istanbul with the other Erasmus students. Hopefully the weather is warm and sunny, because the last few weeks it has been even colder here than in Estonia.

Erasmus - Estónia :)
However, it has been a great experience that we will never forget for sure!
Our purpose in coming to Estonia was to do our practices. We spent most of our journey in Tartu but we went to Tallin for a month, too.
We came in February and it was really COLD (-28)! However it was a truly different landscape for us because we had never seen so much snow! =) And all the houses looked so cute with snow all around.
Our practices were developed mainly in the health board of Tallinn and in the health board of Tartu. We have been doing several interesting things here which are related with our course, Environmental Health. Furthermore we can compare how things are done here, in Estonia, and on our country, Portugal.
For us, one of the best things here in Estonia is the people. They are really kind and always help us… not only at school or in the health board but also on the streets when we need some information. I’m remembering that on the other day, we were a little bit lost (it happens sometimes =D) and we decided to ask to an old lady if she could tell us the way. She was really kind with us and for our surprise she explained everything in English! We couldn’t believe that… An old lady talking in English! =D Yes, this is another excellent point! In general, people speak current English, which is very good for us because we still don’t know very much of Estonian language.
The weather now is getting better and we had the opportunity to visit not only Tallinn and Tartu but also another cities in countries near to Estonia like Riga (Latvia), Stockholm (Sweden), Helsinki (Finland) and Vilnius (Lithuania).
In Tartu and in Tallinn we met many people, mostly of them students. Some of the student’s were our tutors and know they are doing ERASMUS in Portugal (Dagmar, Mihkel and Ave) and in Bulgaria (Astrid, Kairit and Meirit) – Thank you for everything you did for us =)!
We met also Latvian girls that are living with us =P
In Tallinn we met many Erasmus students and even Portuguese people so, we did some dinners and of course we made our traditional food =).
