Santa Cruz

Shortly about the weekend trip to the beachhouse. On the first roadtrip Miguel made a suggestion to spend a weekend at his beachhouse at Santa Cruz which is approximately 60 km from Lisbon to the North.
When we arrived to his place we went straight to the beach which was only 400 m  from the house. The waves were way too big to swim and it was also a bit dangerous? but the beach itself was fantastic. We just wanted to scream and shout – which we did! :D  The feeling to be at the beach in April was just way too good to be true.  We sunbathed for hours and really enjoyed ourselves.
Miguel was a really good host because he cooked Portugese traditional food for us, he did Bakalhau, Portuguese pork with clams  and also rice pudding with cinnamon for dessert.
We did not spend much time indoors, because the weather was super hot and we still needed to sunbathe more and more. I believe the locals will think we are D-vitamin addicts. We went to the other beach also and stayed there until 7 o’clock until we were hungry. Evening at the beachhouse was fun, played some games, watched sunset and so on.
Next day we went to Mafra, visited the Mafra National Palace which is famous for its library, which is not just a usual library, there are 40000 rare books.  The library is special because there live bats who eat the moths which would otherwise ruin the books.
We were lucky because most of the museums in Portugal are free on Sundays until two o’clock.
Then after a good lunch, we went, guess where ? Yes, to the beach again.
That is about it, as it is said, pictures speak more than words !
